Abandoned Vehicles Inspection and Removal

Description of Service

The Council is responsible for the inspection and removal of abandoned vehicles on public land and the public roads.

Abandoned vehicles on private land are the responsibility of the landowner. If, however, they are causing a nuisance, the Council can serve the appropriate notice to remove it.

Service Levels

  • We will inspect abandoned vehicles within 1 working day of it being reported.
  • We will remove the abandoned vehicle within 1 working day of the council being satisfied that it is abandoned.
  • Where the vehicle is on private land, we will serve the appropriate notice within 1 working day of it being reported and remove when legally permitted to do so.

You can report a problem to us in a number of ways:
