Located in Ferndale Road, Swindon, the School of Health and Social Care at Oxford Brookes University (www.brookes.ac.uk)has been teaching (first registration) Adult Nursing Degree and Diploma courses at its Ferndale Campus since 1999 and, from 2007, a (first registration) Diploma course in Operating Department Practice (ODP). We have a flourishing student community of approximately 250 students.
The Campus is developing a growing range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses, including a Return to Practice course for previously-qualified health care professionals wishing to return to nursing and midwifery and clinical practice.

The lecturers are experts in their fields of interest and have strong links with the local NHS trusts, the independent sector and (in the case of ODP), a wide range of theatre settings.

Adult Nursing students undertake clinical placements in the acute hospital setting at Great Western Hospital and community locations within Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. ODP students will undertake their clinical placements in theatre settings across the south-west.
